Senior Pathways &
VET programs for Secondary Students

Updated June 2017

Externally delivered VET (EVET)

Externally delivered HSC VET Courses (EVET) are courses, developed or endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and delivered by Registered Training Organisations, which senior secondary school students may study whilst completing their HSC at school.

EVET courses are taught by teachers from external Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Studying with an RTO involves an adult learning environment and although Stage 5 (Years 9 & 10) and Stage 6 (Years 11 & 12) students are in transition between the learning environments, once enrolled with an RTO, students are subject to all the RTOs policies and regulations, including those related to student rights and obligations.

Students can check which EVET courses are available in their area by going to the EVET website https://evet.nsw.edu.au/course_information/ but must apply through their school. Not all courses are available at each RTO location.
