2. Quality Teaching to support the NSW Professional Teaching Standards is now available on the intranet. The resource has been developed primarily for early career teachers and those who support their professional learning and development. However all teachers who wish to engage with the NSW Professional Teaching Standards will benefit from exploring the professional learning suggestions and activities put forward in this resource. Details

3. The Quality Teaching Implementation Matrix is designed to assist school communities to identify and enhance professional learning and improve professional practice. Schools can use the matrix to evaluate their engagement with the NSW Quality Teaching model. By identifying areas for action, schools can begin to develop and maintain a focus on pedagogy characterised by the dimensions of the NSW Quality Teaching model.

4. The Quality Teaching surveys are designed to assist schools and their communities to gather data from teachers and students about pedagogy and the nature of students' pedagogical experiences using the NSW QT model.

5. QT reflection for principals: This set of questions is designed to support principals and other school leaders to reflect on their current school situation in terms of the QT model and the implications for leadership and school improvement practices.

6. Quality Teaching planning

This proforma is designed to assist with planning a teaching and learning program that addresses the dimensions and elements of the NSW QT model and the key questions, “What do I want my students to learn? Why does that learning matter? What am I going to get them to do or produce? How well do I expect them to do it?'

7. Reflecting on teaching practice

Use this scaffold when reflecting on, and reviewing programs, in applying the QT model to enhance teaching and assessment activities.

8. Developing units of work for Connected Outcomes Groups (COGS)

The NSW QT model provides a framework that can guide the planning of COGs units of work. Creating units from Connected Outcomes Groups allows teachers to make natural and logical connections between the separate knowledge outcomes in K-6 KLAs. Teachers can reflect the way that knowledge is produced in the world beyond the classroom. Learning becomes more meaningful to students when these connections are made.

9. Applying the QT model to program writing

This scaffold supports teachers and leaders to analyse and code a unit of work/program using the NSW QT model as described in An assessment practice guide.

10. Assessment planning

12. Teacher reflection sheet

For use as a “Starting the discussion' activity, this set of questions will serve to begin teachers' self-reflections and later, collegial reflections, on the NSW QT model and what it means for their classroom and assessment practices.
