Hi rappers, It is exciting to have Sarah Davis joining this week. Do you have 3 questions you would like to ask her? Try to make your questions different to those of other rappers. Sarah is really interested in your questions and comments. Mrs Keane at Ryde :)

Hi, you amazing rappers! I've really enjoyed having a look at the trailers, wordles and comments that you've all posted so far, and it will be really nice for me to have a chance to chat to you - since you're all clearly a very talented and intelligent lot. :-) So, I'm looking forward to answering any questions you might have, and just getting to know you all better. See you round on the blog!

Hi Sarah, We absolutely love your illustrations and would like to know the following things: 1) Why did you decide to make Fearless an English Bulldog? 2) How many sketches did you need to do until you were happy with Fearless? 3) How long did it take to complete all the sketches for the book? We look forward to hearing from you. Happy drawing! The Fearless 2 Seals from Pennant Hills Public School

Hi, Fearless 2 Seals! Nice to meet you. Thanks for your great questions. Why did you decide to make Fearless an English Bulldog? Colin Thompson based Fearless on his bulldog Wallace, who he had for 14 years. Wallace really was scared of handbags, and motorcycle helmets too! And he actually did lick the vet's contact lens out once. So it was Colin who decided that Fearless was a bulldog. But really, what else could he be? :-)

How many sketches did you need to do until you were happy with Fearless? Quite a few.I really wanted him to have his own personality and character, so tried hard to get his expressions right. I didn't have as much time to plan as I would have liked, though. If I'd had longer, I would have done more sketching, and not launched into doing the final paintings as soon as I did. I made sure I went and met some real bulldogs before I did the paintings, too, so I could get his bulldgginess right. 3) How long did it take to complete all the sketches for the book? About a month and a half to plan, and a month to do the final paintings.

We would like to say that we enjoyed reading the book, so much that we have now read it many times! We have all decided that we were very happy with the storybook Fearless and we thought it was very funny and great. We also liked learning about how make a Wordle and how to make a digital story. We loved the character Fearless and we thought that he was brave and scared and silly and he really lives up to his name! We have some questions and comments for Sarah Davis: 1) We really thought the pictures were funny and exciting. 2) How many real-life bulldogs did you meet when you were sketching Fearless?

Hi rappers, These are the things we enjoyed about the book rap: * it was challenging * using Smart Notebook with the whole class * communicating with Sarah Davis * writing a digital story * talking about the Fearless story as it was just so fabulous! We learnt how to: * contribute to a blog and what it looks like * communicate with people through blogs. The best parts of the book rap were: * finding out things about Sarah Davis * using Smart Notebook * reading the comments and digital stories from other schools. We would like to thank Ms Maugle and Mrs Keane for organising this rap as it was just so much fun! Happy rapping! The Fearless 2 Seals Pennant Hills Public School
